"A republic, if you can keep it."
— Benjamin Franklin, when asked what kind of government the constitution convention had decided on
Over the past twenty years, a misinformation-industrial complex has emerged, leading to an assault on American democracy unlike anything seen since World War II. As information has become easier to access and disseminate, powerful actors, such as corporations and oligarchs, have sought to seize control of these information channels to mislead the American people deliberately. Their ultimate aim is to persuade the public to accept their unpopular agenda: reduced regulation, greater profits, lower taxes, and continued fueling of disinformation campaigns.
The individuals behind these movements are radicals whose views are deeply unpopular among most Americans. They are neither Republicans nor Democrats—they are self-serving actors willing to sacrifice the nation's well-being for their own gain. Until now, no political party or activist movement has truly challenged these forces—but that is beginning to change.
